About This Antique Masterpiece

An exceptional, rare find for collectors of fine religious art. This is an original, hand-painted antique Greek Orthodox icon depicting Saint Phanourios (Ο Άγιος Φανούριος), the revered patron saint of lost things and hidden revelations.

Rendered in a striking, authentic traditional Greek folk/naive art style, the saint is depicted clad in Roman military attire, holding a cross and a brightly burning candle. This unique sacred artwork is painted directly onto a remarkably thick, solid wooden panel and bears the original signature of the artist at the lower left: Θ. Γεωργάς (Th. Georgas).
