Antique Greek Orthodox Icon Plaque – Annunciation of Virgin Mary Tinos Wood Back

Presenting a rare and beautifully aged religious artifact, perfect for collectors of orthodox icons and antique spiritual relics. This oval metal plaque features a highly detailed, raised relief depicting the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary.

Design & Craftsmanship

The front showcases a stunning scene with the Archangel Gabriel on the left and the Virgin Mary kneeling in prayer on the right, under the descending dove of the Holy Spirit. A traditional lily vase sits between them, framed by a beautifully textured, twisted rope-style border. Prominent Greek script indicates a connection to the revered Panagia of Tinos.

The metal relief is masterfully pinned to a solid, hand-carved dark wood backing, showcasing wonderful natural age and patina. The reverse is equipped with a sturdy brass-tone hanging loop secured by two vintage flathead screws, making it immediately ready for display.
