Greek Orthodox Icon St Catherine Wood Panel Christos Liondas Athens

Offering a beautiful vintage Greek Orthodox icon depicting Saint Catherine of Alexandria (Η ΑΓΙΑ ΑΙΚΑΤΕΡΙΝΗ). She is classically portrayed wearing a crown, holding a cross in her right hand, and resting her left hand on the spiked wheel, the symbol of her martyrdom.

The artwork is mounted on a solid black-painted wooden panel with a metal hanging loop attached to the top back for easy display. The lower left corner features a Greek inscription denoting the piece is by the hand of Christos N. Liondas from Athens: "ΔΙΑ ΧΕΙΡΟΣ ΧΡΗΣΤΟΥ Ν. ΛΙΟΝΔΑ (ΑΘΗΝΑΙ)". Given the style and texture, this appears to be a high-quality lithograph or chromolithograph applied to wood, finished with a golden-toned background.
